Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know and evaluate the knowledge about the Dáder Method of Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up (SFT) in community pharmacies of the historical patrimony of the city of Sucre, since it is necessary and important the Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up in the population to detect Problems Related to Medicines (PRM) and to prevent how to solve Negative Responses associated to Medicines (RNM), being useful the SFT Dáder Method, because it is a simple operating procedure but with fundamental parameters and well structured to carry out the Pharmacotherapy Follow-up in a systematized, continuous and documented way to record, monitor and evaluate the effects of pharmacotherapy.

Although the use of the Dáder Method (better known) is not necessary to carry out a pharmacotherapy follow-up, at least another method or procedure that guarantees a reliable pharmacotherapy follow-up has to be taken into account, but what is generally given in our environment and that is why the accomplishment of this research is that in the community pharmacies of the city of Sucre no SFT is carried out or if they do it is in an inadequate way since they do not have anything documented or registered, they do not have an action plan and it is moments without following a strategy.

It is for this reason that this research is directed to community pharmacies since they are private pharmacies of public interest, in which the pharmacist provides an individualized service and can coordinate with the patient a follow-up plan, which is different in a hospital pharmacy in which its actions are limited by the hospital or doctors, and took into account the historical heritage area of the city of Sucre as it is very crowded with many people and pharmacies have a wider range of pharmaceuticals and innovative products, which allows for Pharmacotherapeutic Monitoring and this practice is not as limited as in pharmacies on the outskirts of the city. This research resulted in an insufficient knowledge of the Dáder Method of Pharmacotherapy Follow-up in the community pharmacies of the historical heritage of the city of Sucre, giving a value of 77% (n=27) of the pharmacists surveyed out of a total of 35 with insufficient knowledge, also related to gender, age, professional position of the pharmacist in the community pharmacy and attendance of the pharmacist to courses of Pharmacotherapy Follow-up, as well as the use of the Dáder Method.

The present research work also made it possible to evaluate the importance of postgraduate courses to improve Pharmacotherapy Follow-up, as well as the use of the Dáder Method, which generates greater knowledge and trust, so a good use of the Dáder Method will lead to the achievement of good and effective results for the health of the population of the city of Sucre.
