Abstract

Hepatitis A is a serious health problem that deserves medical attention. The World Health Organization estimates an annual total of 1.4 million clinical cases of hepatitis A in the world, its transmission is fecal-oral, this disease is directly related to the lack of environmental sanitation and hygienic means. The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of type “A” hepatitis in children under 10 years of age in the municipality of San Lucas during the 2018 management. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective investigation conducted with the population under 10 years that 250 children went to the hospital laboratory during the 2018 management, from whom the positive diagnosis data of Hepatitis A. was extracted from the total of 250 children who went to the laboratory, was diagnosed with hepatitis A in 6%, being in mostly female (60%), between the ages of 4 to 6 years (47%).
