MANAGEMENT PLAN AND STABILIZATION OF BOTTOM SLUDGE OF ANAEROBIC LAGOONS OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF TARIJA

Abstract

The technology applied for the treatment of wastewater generated in the city of Tarija is a system using Stabilization Ponds, a low-complexity alternative, easy to maintain, and simple to operate. The treatment plant was built approximately 30 years ago, during which time it reached the end of its useful life. Furthermore, it has not received complete maintenance on all its components, leading to poor operation and reduced efficiency in the removal of organic matter.
