Abstract

Handmade cosmetics have gained popularity due to being perceived as safe and affordable because of their natural origin. However, the lack of quality control in their production may lead to the presence of pathogenic microorganisms, posing a risk to consumer safety. Microbial contamination, introduced during manufacturing or by user handling, can include pathogens such as Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and E. coli. This study focuses on evaluating the presence of these microorganisms in handmade cosmetics produced in Bolivia.
