HYPOXIA AND DIABETES COMPLICATIONS: ROLE OF MIR210 IN DIABETES KIDNEY DISEASE
Keywords:
diabetic nephropathy, hypoxia, miR-210Abstract
Diabetic nephropathy is the leading cause of kidney failure in patients with diabetes. Hypoxia has been identified as an important pathogenic factor in this process, and it has been observed that Hypoxia-Inducible Factor-1 (HIF-1) signaling is inhibited in diabetes. MiR-210, regulated by HIF-1, is involved in hypoxia adaptation, and its decrease has been reported in diabetic wounds.
