Abstract

Obesity is one of the most serious public health problems worldwide, it is defined as the excessive and pathological accumulation of body fat assessed through the Body Mass Index (BMI) (WHO, 2020); however, BMI does not accurately reflect body composition, nor variations in adiposity, which may be influenced by biological and environmental conditions such as altitude.
