CHARACTERIZATION OF THE CARDIORESPIRATORY FUNCTION AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH OXIDATIVE STRESS IN WOMEN EXPOSED TO WOOD SMOKE WHO LIVE AT HIGH ALTITUDE (3,850 M A.S.L.)
Keywords:
Oxidative stress, malondialdehyde, carboxyhemoglobin and high altitudeAbstract
The different alterations of cardiorespiratory function found in this group of women exposed to
wood smoke are the expression of chronic exposure to wood smoke derivatives and hypobaric hypoxia, both
important sources of free radicals and which establish a permanent and sustained state of oxidative stress,
responsible for the progressive deterioration of cardiorespiratory function without early clinical expression.
