Abstract

One of the main challenges facing university classrooms in Argentina is to achieve deep, complex and meaningful learning. Therefore, good teaching practices (from the students’ point of view), the relevance of the knowledge acquired in line with the demands of the society of the third millennium and research as an engine of knowledge development, provides a description of the curricular structure of the Bachelor´s Degree in Social Work and of what effective teaching is, so as to make integral contributions to the teaching and learning process. The particular case of the Argentine Republic, as well as the creation of Higher Education Institutions (IES) worldwide, consider university as the core of teaching, research, extension, networking and internationalization. In this sense, the national higher education community is discussing how to deal with new pedagogical approaches in response to the changing demands it has to face. The knowledge society is already here. Views can no longer be isolated, joint and collaborative actions must be undertaken, where teachers and students intertwine in order to interact from what students bring, from what teachers have as main actors of the educational system, and what we must modify altogether.
