This study analyzes strategies for water resource use and
aquifer recharge as measures to adapt to drought risk in the
community of Santa Rosalía, District 6 of the Municipality of
Sucre. Recent studies on water management, aquifer recharge,
and climate adaptation in rural communities were reviewed.
The research employed a mixed-methods approach,
combining water analysis, community perceptions, and
climate modeling. The results show that rainwater harvesting
and artificial aquifer recharge are viable techniques for
improving water resilience. It is concluded that the
implementation of these strategies reduces vulnerability to
drought events and strengthens the community’s water
security.
The economic and technical evaluation of the PGA
demonstrated its feasibility and cost-effectiveness, validating
its potential for successful implementation and continuous
improvement of environmental performance within the
specific context of university arts education. The implications
of these results for sustainability in higher education
institutions with intensive practical activities are discussed.
