Abstract

This study evaluates the noise levels generated by nighttime entertainment venues in Sucre. It focuses specifically on nightclubs Capital, Fuego, La Copa, and People Café Bar. The study aims to propose an adequate soundproofing system for these venues. The selection of monitoring sites was based on a preliminary survey that identified these venues as having the highest foot traffic. The results show that 68.7% of the evaluated locations exceed the maximum permissible limit of 65 dB(A) set by the Regulations on Atmospheric Contamination (RMCA) for stationary sources from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Capital had the highest sound level, at 74.1 dB(A), while People Café Bar had the lowest, at 43.6 dB(A). These data demonstrate that nightclubs in District 2 significantly contribute to acoustic pollution and pose a potential risk to the health of nearby residents. In response, a sound insulation proposal focusing on soundproofing ceilings, walls, doors, and floors was developed to mitigate noise emission.
