Abstract

Energy drink sare widely distributed, their consumption has increased due to easy access, its stimulant properties and safety features attributed to them. A little knowledge of its features is confusing with sports drinks to use the mindis criminately, although sports drinks seek to prevent dehydration and energizer shave a stimulating effect, we present the case of a 23 year old male who visited our hospital to present altered state of consciousness with hallucinations and disorientation with a history of eating energize Red Bull type 6 cansper day during the last 10 days before coming to the consultation. Penetratingin internal medicine with the diagnosis of acute Confusional Syndrome after I present supraventricular tachycardia was transferred to ICU where they perform all imaging studies. CT Lumbarand Laboratories all negative for structural and infectious pathology, toxicology laboratory reports very high doses of taurine in plasma, patient was transferred to a rehabilitation center with a residual irreversible nerve damage.
