Abstract

The paper analyzes the non-tariff policies (NTPs) implemented in Bolivia in the period 2018 and 2024, focusing on the repercussions in terms of international trade and on sectors of the local economy.

Five main policies are explored: regulation of phytotechnical standards, sanitary control of pharmaceutical products, technical regulations for the textile sector, import control of electronic products, and food sovereignty policy.

The bibliographic review referred mainly to national and international institutions and organizations, aims to show aspects of non-tariff policies in Bolivia and the understanding of their effects on international trade of some products and sectors of the economy.
