Abstract

Acute hyperglycemic complications include diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), and hypoglycemia. The objective of this study was to determine nursing interventions in the care of acute complications in diabetic patients in the emergency department of San Antonio de los Sauces Hospital, Monteagudo. The study was a qualitative-quantitative, retrospective cross-sectional cohort study. Sixty percent of respondents indicated that the necessary actions and interventions should be taken in relation to nursing actions and interventions in patients with acute complications of diabetes.
