Abstract

This research addressed the topic of teaching-learning methodologies for
strengthening soft skills in seventh- and eighth-semester psychology students.
Currently, the development of soft skills is a vital aspect of the professional practice
of future psychologists, as the demands from companies and public and private
institutions continue to increase. These entities seek competent professionals who
can apply both technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. The research question was: What teaching-learning methodologies would be most
relevant for strengthening soft skills in seventh- and eighth-semester psychology
students, given that soft skills are not currently being reinforced?
A mixed-methods approach with a descriptive scope was proposed. The study
employed documentary analysis and historical-logical methods, and for the diagnostic
phase, a survey was conducted among seventh- and eighth-semester students who
were enrolled in the 2024 academic term.
The survey results indicate that the methodologies used by instructors are insufficient
for strengthening students’ soft skills. Additionally, students expressed awareness of
the importance of these skills for achieving a successful professional future.
