ATENCIÓN DE ENFERMERÍA EN PACIENTES MENORES DE 5 AÑOS CON CRISIS FEBRIL

Abstract

Objective: The study aimed to identify nursing care in patients under 5 years of age with febrile seizures in the emergency department of Santa Bárbara Hospital, Sucre, February 2025. METHODS: Quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental research carried out with nursing professionals, applying the survey technique and an instrument developed based on the literature to evaluate care in febrile seizures. RESULTS: As a result, it was found that patients under 5 years of age who came with febrile seizures are in Management 2024 was 207 patients. 100% of the nursing staff indicates that the most frequent care in a febrile seizure are: administration of oxygen, administration of antipyretics, placement of peripheral IV. CONCLUSION: The care provided by the professional is: protecting the patient and placing something on their head to prevent them from hitting themselves, monitoring the duration of the febrile crisis, assessing the child's level of consciousness, communication, and breathing, monitoring vital signs, providing physical support, and providing guidance to parents to avoid complications.
