Abstract

Introduction: Crohn’s disease (CD) can present as an abdominal mass, mimicking postsurgical complications.

Clinical case: A 30-year-old woman un- dergoing cystectomy and appendectomy presented with right iliac fossa (RIF) pain, a palpable mass, and weight loss. Initial studies suggested a residual abscess. La- parotomy revealed an ileocecal mass, and histopathology confirmed CD with nonca- seating granulomas.

Conclusion: CD should be included in the differential diagnosis of postsurgical RIF masses. Histological confirmation is cru- cial for proper management.
