Abstract

Scleroderma is considered a rare. Although it has a predominance of affectation in adult patients, it sometimes occurs in pediatric ages, its localized forms being the most frequent forms of presentation. The objective of this report is to present the case of a 12-year-old schoolgirl, with a 8-year history of skin lesions treated during this time as atopic dermatitis which was diagnosed, through clinical characteristics and results of pathological studies, as deep localized scleroderma. The case report is considered important to share with the medical community the basic elements related to the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, as an alternative to reducing the complications it generates.
