Abstract

The research is conducted for the period 2005-2024, divided into
two stages due to changes in the database. It is based on data from the
National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Bolivia in its Statistical Yearbooks and
Continuous Employment Surveys (ECE). The objective is to analyze the
occupational structure, time spent working, and average monthly income of
the population employed in their main activity. The work aims to analyze the
perception of income by employment category in the main activity and the
time spent on that activity. The results show stability in the distribution of the
population in the selected employment categories, as well as in the time and
level of relative income between categories. The findings allow us to reflect on
the importance of identifying support policies for the self-employed, since
they are the most vulnerable labor group, lacking working hours, short- and
long-term insurance, vacations, among other benefits.
