LA LECTURA DE NOVELA BOLIVIANA EN ESTUDIANTES DE SECUNDARIA DE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA REPÚBLICA DE VENEZUELA (2023)

The present research analyzes the reading of the Bolivian novel, understood as a cultural practice, in high school students of the República de Venezuela Educational Unit in the city of Sucre (Bolivia), assuming the proposal of the Sociology of Reading by Bernard Lahire and Pierre Bourdieu in a manner related to Mario Yapu’s perspective on education. Using a qualitative- quantitative approach, with a depth of research at a descriptive level, a questionnaire is applied to a sample size of 148 high school students. The study concludes that: the novel as a narrative genre is the one with the greatest presence in secondary education plans and programs, the Bolivian novel of the mid-20th century is the one with the greatest cultural consumption and its cultural disposition is mostly instrumental, the role of the institution school is essential in a family context of parents with a low level of education; finally, there is a marked practice of “non-legitimate reading”, that is, fragmentary or partial readings of novels and readings that are practiced outside the education curriculum. secondary.
